A delegation from the NIHR conducts a field visit to the Rehabilitation and Correction Center in Jau
Upon the extensive authority vested in NIHR regarding the protection and advancement of human rights, along with its jurisdiction as outlined in its founding legislation, and in response to reports of unrest among certain inmates at the Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Center (Jau), NIHR conducted an impromptu visit to the facility. During this visit, representatives from the inmate population engaged with the institution's delegation, articulating their grievances, which were duly recorded and forwarded to the appropriate authorities.
The institution reiterates its unwavering dedication to upholding the rights of all individuals, particularly those incarcerated in rehabilitation and detention facilities, ensuring their entitlements as enshrined in domestic laws and relevant international conventions. Collaborating closely with relevant bodies, NIHR pledges to explore optimal avenues for enhancing the quality of services rendered.
